Storyline Mechanic

The story will start playing as soon as the player starts the game, and will start discovering little pieces of the storyline as they continue the game. As well as exploring hidden areas to encounter more hidden fragments of the storyline.

The game at the moment has over 20 different lines, on different points in the map. As well as different story lines, when the player reaches certain checkpoints. In order to keep the player entertained these 20 lines are all different and tell little interesting facts about the main character or show emotions in the current scene.

Guns

To begin with i focused on creating several weapons and their firing patterns… I ended up creating:

  • pistol – single bullet fire with relatively low bullet range
  • shotgun – multiple bullets fire in 1 direction (later to be fixed to fire in a spread of different directions), but fires in a very low bullet range from the gun, as shotguns should be fired
  • rifle – the rifle has an automatic fire rate with 40 bullets in capacity for the moment, and will increase or decrease in the future depending on which weapon the player has. Can fire a long distance, but can still fall off
  • sniper – single shot magazine weapon, with a high force and low drop of the bullet, to allow fast and accurate shots, but the penalty being low magazine size

The RNG system will allow a drop rate of all the weapon types depending on the rarity and then another RNG system that will choose the weapon type, the units i will be using for the RNG system will be a million to one for Legendaries, in order for the Legendaries to be a super rare drop, instead of common, where is will have a more than 60% chance to get a common.

The Final Athenian

Game Description

The plan I have for “The Final Athenian” is to be a 3D First Person Shooter (fps) with Role Playing Game (rpg) components. The game will be for pc (and in virtual reality, ideally), where the player will be shooting monsters and possibly other people not in the favour of Athena. The main theme of the game will be in modern civilization with enemies that have guns, swords or natural weapons (for example claws), in which the player will have to fight through caves and open terrain maps to find the objective, while following a story to help the character and maintain the immersion of the player.

At the beginning the player is going to be in a closed off space, where they will realise, they have amnesia, but the only thing that Asuna Chase can remember is the face and name of their loved one…” Kazuto Jackson” … a son of Poseidon, the god of the sea and earthquakes. As the game progresses Asuna will start recovering fragments from her past and will be stepping closer to finding out what exactly happened to make her lose her memories. In addition, those fragments will come as memory fragments that can also be found in secret areas, for example in the beginning of the game, there is a secret chest that will reveal a piece of memory. This adds the replayability factor to the game as the player would want to gather all the pieces and figure out what exactly happened and why.

Backstory

Let’s start at the beginning, Asuna Chase is the daughter of a goddess and her dad is mortal, normally this is the stuff of fictions, but in this world, there are Demi-Gods. Now some Gods can’t have mortal partners and get kids, however some Gods use their special powers and a child magically pops out, as with what happened with Asuna Chase. One day her father was just working on his miniature plane collection (he has a collection of almost every type of vehicle, and is especially fascinated by the world wars that happened) and in the next moment he saw his reflection in the glass that his head was glowing, after a few moments a child appeared from his head and in front of him… Asuna Chase`s beginning. Her life has been full of misfortune and tragedy, as she has never seen her mother and at the age of 10 monsters have been chasing her and trying to kill her, however there was a satyr (a creature that is half goat, half human) named “Grover” who helped her get to a safe place where monsters couldn’t touch her. That was “Aincrad”, a floating fortress that can only be accessed by flying or using magical means, filled with lots of Demi-Gods and other creatures that help maintain the defence of the fortress. There she met her future boyfriend Kazuto Jackson, a son of Poseidon, the son of the sea and earthquakes… also one of the biggest rivals of Athena, Her Mother, the Greek virgin goddess of wisdom, civilization, mathematics, warfare, city defence, strategic, law and justice, crafts, the arts, and skill. During the creation of Greek`s biggest city there had to be a God that was chosen as the main idol, the competition was between Poseidon and Athena, and Athena won, the city was named Athens as a result.
